Principal’s Welcome

Joe Dickens

The academic offerings at Saint Paul’s School provide a rigorous core curriculum complemented by a wide variety of advanced placement, honors, and elective offerings designed to meet the varied interests and talents of our students. The extracurricular offerings are equally as rich: Students can explore over 50 clubs and organizations and 18 sports teams that the school offers as they get acclimated to high school. Saint Paul’s also has a fully staffed counseling department that establishes a relationship with each of our families from the time a student enrolls through his departure to college.

Beginning in 8th grade, students can earn high school credit in math, Spanish, social studies, and health/physical education. The following year as freshmen, students choose among several multi-year elective tracks that include advanced second language classes, art, music, theater, engineering, computer science, biomedical sciences, business, and law.  Several other elective choices are available to students who may want to choose a more varied elective route.

We offer 17 Advanced Placement courses via the College Board and various honors classes at each level, and students are actively encouraged to challenge themselves by enrolling in these more demanding classes.

Because an integral part of our mission calls for us to provide a human and Christian education to all, Saint Paul’s is committed to the learning needs of all students. We offer dual enrollment courses and CLEP testing within the curriculum so that every young man has an opportunity to earn college credit.

Furthermore, we proudly began our Catholic Opportunity for a Responsive Education (CORE) Pack program a few years ago to address the needs of an underserved community in our local Catholic schools: students with exceptionalities. The students who participate in our program enjoy spirituality and inclusivity as they progress academically, and many upper-level students sign up to be CORE Pack mentors as one of their electives.

Our faculty is an outstanding group of Christian Brothers, laymen, and women, and three fourths of our faculty members hold advanced degrees in their teaching fields. Because an integral part of the Lasallian Charism includes educating the whole student, all of the teachers at Saint Paul’s are involved in at least one extracurricular activity. As a result, Saint Paul’s is a consecutive Blue Ribbon Awardee from the U.S. Department of Education in 2015 and 2021.

Saint Paul’s is part of an international tradition of educational excellence dating back to 1680 and to our founder, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, the patron Saint of teachers. Moreover, all faculty and staff participate in Lasallian formation in the rich teaching tradition of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, and the majority of our teachers have completed various advanced Lasallian programs of study.

Our instructors and support staff are committed to providing relevant, rigorous, and value-centered instruction to every student entrusted to their care. It is our goal to ensure that all students mature intellectually, spiritually, and morally beyond commencement and habitually exhibit integrity and dependability as they do ordinary things extraordinarily well.
