An excused absence is considered excused if it is followed by a note or email from a parent/guardian or doctor stating the reason and date of the absence by the end of the first day that the student returns to school or he will be issued a Decorum and Civility Session. The following shall be deemed excused absences:
- Illness – accompanied by a physician’s excuse
- Death in the family – documentation is required

In such cases, the student will be permitted to make up any work missed with no penalty.
