Welcome, Alumni Wolves
Ever since my days as a student, proudly wearing the school crest on my chest, I dreamed of returning to Saint Paul’s to give back to the place that did so much to shape me. Now, as Director of Alumni Relations—a title that still feels a bit surreal to say out loud—I find myself entrusted with maintaining a sacred thread that stretches both backward and forward through time. And honestly, it’s an honor that carries more weight than I ever expected.
Before taking on this role, I taught English here for several years, which turns out to have more in common with alumni work than you might think. In both cases, the job is largely about reintroduction—guiding someone back into a familiar space and watching them discover something new. In the classroom, I saw classic literature light up in students’ eyes. Now, I get to see that same light when alumni walk campus again—some for the first time in decades—and take in what’s changed and, just as importantly, what hasn’t.
The old gym is still here. The oak trees still lean. But there are also new buildings, new faces, and new directions—all rooted in the Lasallian Core Principles: Faith in the Presence of God, Respect for All Persons, Inclusive Community, Concern for the Poor and Social Justice, and, of course, Quality Education.
If you’re reading this, I hope you’ll consider this an open invitation—not just to come back physically (though we’d love that), but to reconnect in whatever way makes sense to you. Because the story of Saint Paul’s isn’t just in the archives or yearbooks; it’s still being written, and your voice is a part of that.
If I can help you find your way back—whether that’s through memories, classmates, or simply showing up—reach out at w.brown@stpauls.com or (985) 892-3200 Ext. 1976. The strength of the Wolf, after all, is in the pack.
Faithfully in the Brotherhood,
Whitney Brown ’05
Director of Alumni Relations
